Pope Julius[edit]

I feel the quotes here may not be enough - the last one doubts whether such a game exists, the middle one doesn't even say "Pope Julius". Looking at this bgc, there is little evidence; and even with decent quotes; to what extent do we allow card games into Wiktionary? --Keene 14:18, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

To answer your last point first, what's wrong with card games? See war, solitaire, poker, etc. The middle quote doesn't say "Pope Julius", but does say a variant of it. We seem to allow these for RFV purposes, AFAICT. Especially for such an old word and obsolete referent, I'd hate to see the word go because we can't find a citation with the identical form.—msh210 17:42, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Having read the context of the citations this does appear to be valid, although tenuous. Better citations would be great but due to the subject they may be hard to find, especially on the internet. Passed. [The]DaveRoss 23:44, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
