Wiki was dead wrong on this and the OED doesn't mention it, but as far as I can tell, English uses both Ravennate (from the proper derivation from Latin Ravennatus and Ravennatis) and Ravennese (from mistaken application of its general use in Italian names and/or the parallel form Ravennatensis used by the ecclesiastics) and the former is more popular than the later in scholarly works. (The use of the Italian Ravennati in English sources seems to be mostly as people's surnames or passages of Italian; the anglicized "Ravennan" shows up but uncommonly enough it might just be glossed as 'error'. increasingly commonly but still less often than the others so far.) — LlywelynII 08:52, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
