Needs attributive use. As you've probably realized, this is a ploy to get the incomprehensible "attributive use rule" review, or just plain removed. C'mon guys, what we don't need in CFI as a paragraph that AFAICT not one single Wiktionary user understands. Mglovesfun (talk) 12:28, 1 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Attributive use is bullshit. </2cents> — [ R·I·C ] opiaterein13:56, 1 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
No attributive use found at COCA, BNC, or the Time Magazine corpus. DCDuring TALK 14:19, 1 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Close this RFV, per Wiktionary:Unresolved issues/Place names, and leave the issue to rot a while longer. :) No one wants place names to require attributive use. --Yair rand 21:49, 1 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yankee land[edit]

Should Yankee land be included among the synonyms as well? Is it pejorative? The uſer hight Bogorm converſation 08:23, 27 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, a synonym. I don’t consider it pejorative. Americans are not offended by Yankee. —Stephen 06:39, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Southerners are. —Angr 08:24, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Abbreviations[edit]

I suggest removing abbreviations as they appropriate to the USA entry. Шурбур (talk) 18:08, 21 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

For the Gothic translation as it seems very doubtful. Also other translations might be made up. -91.6.201.196 01:57, 8 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately some people like to make up Gothic words for modern concepts and insert them into the site. Removed. DTLHS (talk) 02:16, 8 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

The correct method is to use {{t-check|𐌲𐌰𐌲𐌰𐌷𐌰𐍆𐍄𐌹𐌳𐌰 𐍂𐌴𐌹𐌺𐌾𐌰}}, not {{rfv}} for the whole entry. Yes, I have added 𐌲𐌰𐌲𐌰𐌷𐌰𐍆𐍄𐌹𐌳𐌰 𐍂𐌴𐌹𐌺𐌾𐌰 (gagahaftida reikja) and I am OK for it to be deleted. Re: Also other translations might be made up is a wild claim. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 06:25, 8 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
