adaaʼ versus ʼadaaʼ[edit]
Hello. According to this 1958 dictionary, the lemma of this entry should be ʼadaaʼ (with 2 apostrophes) instead adaaʼ (1 apostrophe). In a quick check it seems that in the book all the words starting with a vowel have the ʼ apostrophe at the beginning. Maybe standard Navajo is now writing all words starting with a vowel without the glottal stop by default because it is obvious? Maybe that glottal stop only appears when you say the word alone but it disappears in discursive speech? I do not know but if the proper notation is the one in the aforementioned book, a number of the words in Category:Navajo language and its categories should be renamed.
