Delete. If you know what ammo is, and you know what a belt is, you know what an ammo belt is. Which is entirely the point of having definition of ammo and belt, so people know what they mean. Renard Migrant (talk) 17:29, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

The IP that posted this is suspiciously close geographically to where Romanophile lives in Texas, so I suspect this is Romanophile, himself. • Keep. 1) Lemmings: Collins has "ammunition belt"[1]. 2) Translation target: it seems useful for translations: the Finnish one is "ammusvyö" but when I entered "ammo belt" into Google translate, I got *"ammo vyö"; ammunition gets me "ammukset" for Finnish so I would not know how to get the Finnish translation from the Finnish translations of the parts. 3) Seems like a fairly specific thing, and I would like to have a picture in the dictionary to get an idea of what it is. --Dan Polansky (talk) 11:52, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

I have added a picture, and when I did so, I realized that we probably should Keep the entry, because it is not the most intuitive meaning of belt. — This unsigned comment was added by Kiwima (talk • contribs).

I think it passes the fried egg test. A belt worn around the waist with ammunition attached to it (for example in a belt pouch) is not an ammo belt. Kiwima (talk) 19:55, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

That just says that your mental lexicon lacked an entry that Wiktionary has: "(weaponry) device that holds and feeds cartridges into a belt-fed weapon". MWOnline has "a continuous band of tough flexible material for transmitting motion and power or conveying materials". (I'd prefer "usually continuous".) DCDuring TALK 22:47, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
