There are 0 hits for اواني in all the 20 dictionaries compiled in lisaan.net. I have written of a more plausible etymology in avanie which I hope will aid clearing things for the English lemma as well (although I found not the meaning of the Turkish term because I don’t know Turkish):

From Greek αβανιά (avaniá, defamation, slander), from Turkish avan, from Arabic خَوَّان (ḵawwān, unreliable, traitor).
What is being asked for here? The lemma is already cited. It looks like you are asking for a verification of the etymology. Perhaps the Etymology scriptorium might be a better place for this. Kiwima (talk) 21:21, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
My bad: I thought requests for verification entailed verification of etymologies as well, but now I know better
