This is not a word

Hmm, I'm glad you drew attention to this word, since it does seem to be an interesting word. I looked it up at books.google.com and saw that it has 730 uses there. Considering we have lots of words which have just double (or, more rarely, single) digit uses at books.google.com, I think this is a pretty good word. On the less reliable groups.google.com, it has ~16,800 hits, and on google.com it has ~2,720,000 hits. Whether or not it complies to regular rules, it definitely appears to have been internalized very strongly into the language!  :-) By the way, I hope you will make some contributions to Wiktionary, I can tell by your analysis above you have an above average insight into English grammar and we can always use people like that :-D Language Lover 01:01, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

I don’t agree that awesomeness is redundant or that awe is an adequate substitute therefor. Awesome means, roughly, “inspiring awe”, so awesomeness means “the quality of inspiring awe”, which is different from the meaning of awe (“amazement” / “fearful reverence”). † Raifʻhār Doremítzwr 14:34, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

I deleted the probably mistaken adjectival sense … which … you … added… Does our analysis explain your thinking? –If not, and you decide to reädd the adjectival sense, please provide three citations, from independent, durably archived sources, spanning at least a year, as per WT:CFI. Can't edit the page

I hope that Equinox will change the status from uncountable to countable and uncountable (or usually uncountable). Note that the page awesomenesses exists, and I'm able to find quotations about the plural form or when searching "an awesomeness" in Google Books. 176.88.80.215 14:22, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
