Are you certain "bec-jaune" is in use though? There seems to be several birds à bec jaune, but none of them is called "un bec-jaune" alone by ellipsis, AFAICT. - @Per utramque cavernam I mostly find it in older dictionaries, e.g. this. I don't know how readily it is found if at all in running text.
