In Peru (South America), this sky mask is also called "pasamontaña". It becomed popular for being used by Shining Path guerrilla in its execution teams.
Etymology[edit]
It must be coming from the town Balaklava (Балаклава) in Crimea, Ukraine. Wikipedia has a source for the claim. --Anatoli 02:47, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
