Tagalog word with Cebuano etymology?

[edit]

@TagaSanPedroAko What's your basis for the Cebuano etymology? Panganiban says the word exists in Ilocano, Kapampangan, and Pangasinan also. Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:40, 23 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

I came up with that because the word contains "batal", which exists in Cebuano, but not Tagalog ("batalan" is listed on the Vocabulario, but not "batal"). It's most likely an old Cebuano borrowing which has been well-assimilated. TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 19:01, 23 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
