Possible origin of the money sense[edit]

Regarding the money sense: John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) claims that "formerly, bean meant a guinea", and relates the word to the French biens (property). Equinox 18:21, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
