Yes, beast is used frequently in the sense of "cool" or "awesome". This I have observed often in Kahnawake, QC and other English speak Mohawk communities. Although it is popular in these native communities the word does appear in that sense in the thank you notes to the rock group JONAS (2008). Beast in the sense of automobile I believe is much more widespread. -Kevin Brousseau
