A chipper is a shortened version of a "fish and chipper", i.e. a place that sells fish and chips not as it says in the entry. The "greasy spoon" type of place that sells chips is known as a "chippy" not a "chipper" 85.53.64.48 15:09, 21 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The word chipper used as the first definition is widespread and in long-term use. Chippy is already listed as per your comment. What region are you referring to. I've never heard it called that.--Dmol (talk) 21:32, 21 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
