Adjective: "(obsolete) Knit or woven together; close; firm."

One cite, which to me doesn't clearly support the definition. Definition not found in Century 1911 or MW 1913. OED might have it. DCDuring (talk) 16:07, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's in the big OED with three cites:
?1541 R. Copland Guy de Chauliac's Questyonary Cyrurgyens ii. sig. Cijv The skynne is composed & context and wouen with thredes and vaynes.
1661 R. Boyle New Exper. Physico-mech. (1682) iii. iv. 71 Describe how such a string may be context.
1713 W. Derham Physico-theol. iv. xii. 222 Hollow and thin for Lightness, but withal context and firm, for Strength.  :Dbfirs 19:41, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. DCDuring (talk) 01:29, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't find the 1541 cite among the works Google has scanned. I wonder if it is in the out-of-copyright OED. DCDuring (talk) 14:04, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
