English[edit]

"(phonetics) A linguistic sound other than a stop"

There might be two senses: 1. a certain sound (which inludes vowels) (cp. wiktionary), 2. a certain consonant (which does not include vowels) (cp. dictionary.com/browse/continuant?s=t and en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/continuant ). Antonym may be non-continuant and it could be more than just stops (also affricates and sometimes but not always nasals, depending on definition or view) (cp. en:w:Continuant including talkpage). -02:08, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
