to crash one’s way

Hello. I have a translation exercise to do with "……… crashed its way into ………" (I suppose our teacher is no copyright fanatic but I still prefer not to put the complete sentence, just to be sure). I would translate it (into French) like this "Il s’est frayé un chemin jusqu’aux broussailles", but I am not sure, and since there is no Wiktionary entry for it, I’d like to ask native speakers. Missing noun sense in television?

Green's Newspeak (1984) calls it "desperately hurried work against a deadline" (in TV) — so what we would call a crunch in e.g. video game development. I wasn't able to search for this sense effectively. Equinox ◑ 18:52, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
