Reasons for naming the crane Davit[edit]

It might be the case that a crane with a bulk or cargo lifted in the air, resembles biblical David holding a staff (extended arm of the crane) and a sling (hawser holding the cargo) with a stone (cargo) inserted and that is from where the term comes from? Yes, you cannot rule this case too, but the possible explanation given in the article is that "maybe because those small cranes can handle a much bigger lifeboat" and I just built up on this logic. Daviti Zhorzholiani (talk) 12:28, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
