Translit to English

[edit]

Below is the translit to English ... š,č,í are not English letters. See how wikipedia does it ... way better!

д = d

е = ye (as in yet ... нет = nyet [no]) tho often written as 'e'. However, in dyedovshchina, it is said as ye and should be written that way.

в = v

щ = shch (often sounds like sh or the sounds are split between syllables ... either it's blurred)

и = i (short, as in sit)

н = n

note, an unstressed o often = a but for translit, it stays an 'o'.

Thus дедовщина = dyedovshchina (or dedovshchina) ... dye-DOVSH-chi-na or dye-DOV-shch-na --AnWulf ... Ferþu Hal! (talk) 19:33, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the efforts but we transliterate Russian differently here: WT:RU TR. Don't change. --Anatoli (обсудить) 22:17, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
See also WT:WFW. Also, it's дедовщи́на, not дедо́вщина. --Anatoli (обсудить) 22:21, 28 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
