The sense A person that accepts responsibility for the educating process and educates by supporting and assisting an educand. What is this, and how is it different from the three other senses we currently list? ---> Tooironic (talk) 02:23, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Tooironic: it's the jargon of pedagogy theory (not something I'm at all fond of). That said, I could cite it easily, but I think it's redundant to senses 2 and 3; maybe we should move this to RFD? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 03:12, 5 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
It also has the common failing of describing in vague terms rather than defining. Since the educand as well as the educator needs to "accept responsibility for the educating process" in order to learn, and since "supporting and assisting" could mean almost anything, the only real content is in the word educates- which makes it a much less useful paraphrase of sense 2.
