This has gotta be a verb, right?[edit]

It says it's a noun, but the only cite uses it as a verb and the definition is that of a verb. Ellenor2000 (talk) 06:34, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially. A lot of these neologisms for activities start out as gerunds (-ing nouns), with the other expected verbal forms not readily attested. I agree that the cite doesn't use it as a noun, though. "Ego-surfing again, are we?" is grammatically equivalent to "Are we [meaning: you] ego-surfing again?", which clearly is using it as a present participle. 70.172.194.25 06:43, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I just noticed we also have an entry egosurf defining the verb. Hmm, I'm not sure we need to include the definition in both. This one should at least link there (edit: done) 70.172.194.25 06:45, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that makes sense. I'm no established Wikt or Wikipedia editor, so I'm shy about things like this at the best of times. I'm grateful you've added the verb sense for me! Ellenor2000 (talk) 06:54, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
