The synonyms section is wrong. A starter is never served between other courses, it is always served first. Thus it doesn't quite match either sense but the two words are still used synonymously by many people. — Hippietrail 00:18, 26 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Missing sense?[edit]

Chambers 1908 defines entrée as "a made dish served at dinner between the chief courses" -- note between, not before. Equinox 13:10, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
