Origins of the error/mistake distinction[edit]

According to w:Error analysis#Error analysis in second language acquisition, the error/mistake distinction was first conceptualised by Stephen Pit Corder in “The significance of learners’ errors”, published on pages 160–170 of the International Review of Applied Linguistics, volume 5 (1967).
