Various supposed senses that I cannot attest[edit]

  • The Practitioner's Medical Dictionary (Gould, 1919): 1. A vapor-bath; also a stove designed to apply warm, dry air to all parts of the body at the same time. 2. A tube through which a hot cautery-iron can be passed to the part to be operated upon.
  • American Illustrated Medical Dictionary (1919): Vapor bath.
  • A Practical Medical Dictionary (Stedman, 1922): Vapor bath.

Furthermore, there's at least one place (Dauphin Island, Alabama) that has an "estuarium" that is a sort of estuary museum (cf. aquarium, dolphinarium, etc.); but it might be the only place operating under that name.
