Removals from the verb section:

  1. The previous 2nd definition: (transitive) To make desirable or necessary.
  2. The corresponding request for translations of this particular meaning (no translations had been contributed).

Remarks: No evidence found of to exact taking meanings resembling to make desirable or to make necessary. If I am mistaken, please let me know. Unfortunately the original contributor has been inactive since 2007.--Potentportentporter (talk) 20:31, 17 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reverted the page to the same state as before my edit. Merriam Webster defines exact seemingly similarly. Nonetheless, whether to call for as and to make are functionally interchangeable is unclear without an example of to exact being used in this way.--Potentportentporter (talk) 21:10, 17 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

That's why we have the Request For Verification page (WT:RFV). If you want to challenge the sense, add {{rfv}} to the line in the entry, then use the link in the box it creates to add an entry at RFV to explain why you're challenging it. If no one can find enough examples of usage that meet our Criteria for Inclusion (WT:CFI), it will be removed. Chuck Entz (talk) 21:57, 17 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Adverb?[edit]

According to m-w, "exact" in "exact same" is NOT an adverb. 109.186.244.49 12:13, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
