Front desk at grocery stores?[edit]

I just want a native English speaker to verify before I add any translation links; isn't there a front desk at grocery stores. A place outside the registers (but still owned by the store) where they sell candy, newspapers, tobacoo, and lottery tickets?--Christoffre (talk)

No. A front desk is only used in a hotel or office. ---> Tooironic (talk) 10:51, 29 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
So is this person using the word wrong, or have I missunderstood?
