i believe the current definition is correct but[edit]

i will try to find out if there is a distinction made anywhere between wines whose alcohol content is 100% non-grape and those whose alcohol comes primarily from some other fruit but is mixed with grape wine before bottling (presumably because grape wine is much cheaper). Both of these are not to be confused with grape wine mixed with fruit juice, which is much cheaper. For example, a google search for raspberry wine turns up mostly hits for what I consider the real thing, but also much cheaper bottles which are in fact just raspberry-flavored grape wine, which is allowed in the US to have the word raspberry prominently featured, and with a picture of the fruit too, but must also clearly state on the bottle what type of grape wine it is.
