What about 'guarding' by non-human animals, e.g. mate guarding? The current definition rules this possibility out. Richard001 09:43, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reason it specifies it to be a person is the result of English (agreeably in my opinion) not distinguishing between people and animals (and things/robots) when using nouns and verbs, unfortunately people forget about the possibility of it being used to describe something other than a person doing it, so then when asked to define it they specify a person doing it. An important thing to remember before saving an edit is whether your definition for a noun/verb covers all uses.Scotty Zebulon 01:01, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've corrected the problem, but the translations section will also have to be changed, it's nearly certain some of the words there are distinguished for people only and others are not.Scotty Zebulon 01:05, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, your link to the wikipedia page just redirects to the wikipedia page on mating.Scotty Zebulon 01:06, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
