"dialectical"[edit]

It's good to know that a certain word or a certain meaning cannot be used in Standard English. But can we at least mention what dialect(s) use(s) harvest for autumn? 'Dialectal' is so vague, much like denoting all translations of a word as 'foreign'. Steinbach (talk) 15:42, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

FWIW I agree and have raised this point more generally before. In this case, it's not so bad, as it's already clarified as being British dialects, but that's still not ideal (like labelling a translation as "Southeastern European", perhaps). Joseph Wright's old dictionary has examples from (only) Scotland and the Shetland Islands. - -sche (discuss) 07:33, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
