Metal support for pots and pans on stove?[edit]

I have also seen hod used in the UK as the metal supports upon which pots and pans rest upon a stove. In middle English it was the grate upon which pots and kettles rested in the cooking process.

bookie’s bag[edit]

I’ve just this second finished watching the second part of the TV series ‘The Real Peaky Blinders’ on BBC2 and they mention there that ‘hod’ means bookie’s bag - might be worth adding as a quote if this meaning is challenged? Overlordnat1 (talk) 22:06, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
