Notes on Italiot-Greek[edit]
Oh I will BET that this is a contraction of 'helios'/'helio'! Drop the H and e->i and there ya go. As a result, while my parameters are below, this actually could be rendered in Greek script a few ways and Griko sources are super important for this.
(Parameters: β = v, no breathing marks, τ = (sometimes) δ, u = υ or ου, c = κ, ng = γγ)
Possibilities:
ιλιο/ιλιω ελιο/ελιω ηλιο/ηλιω

Oh, thank you! I'm much more familiar with Ancient than Modern which is why I've been keeping all of this to talk pages and Learning As I Go. That makes a lot of sense - I bolded that one as the most likely, short of finding it in a Griko source. Elliott Dunstan (talk) 18:24, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
