Talk:improper

In the mathematical phrase improper integral, can it have been derived from a Latin improprius that means not fitting, not touching? In Hungarian (my language) illő (proper, according to customs) and illeszkedő (fitting in place) are derived from the same root. Can improprius in Latin mean something like this?
