Quotation

[edit]

@3knolls: I think we have some disagreement over what the correct quotation here should be. My version of the quote is directly from the Russo translation of the book. Your reference seems to misquote it or at least slightly modify it. But in both versions, the quote includes "sbadataggine o qualsiasi altra cosa" rather than the "sbadataggine o in qualsiasi altra cosa" that you added. If you really insist that e poi is better than per poi, you can requote it from the Repubblica article rather than keeping it as a quotation from the book translation itself. I think my version is best because it draws directly from the book, but what are your thoughts? Imetsia (talk) 16:54, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Imetsia: Since "sfracellavano cose e persone per poi si ritiravano..." is completely nonsensical in Italian, I am pretty sure it was merely a typo. On the contrary, you are right about "in", although some questionable sources do state so (e.g. https://www.ilconsigliereletterario.com/2014/08/17/francis-scott-fitzgerald-il-grande-gatsby/amp/).--3knolls (talk) 18:17, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
