Unspeakable generally has a negative connotation (E.g., unspeakable crimes or Oscar Wilde's characterization of fox hunting as the unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable). I had thought ineffable connoted something so abstract or spiritual as to be inexpressible. -dmh 05:20, 22 May 2004 (UTC)Reply
