Latin. Tagged by 2003:de:373f:4069:b534:361e:8aeb:9907 on 22 December, not listed: “google books for "iudex non calculat" sunt didn't bring up something Latin”. J3133 (talk) 04:10, 27 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

GBS indicates the collocation is found in several reference books of Latin citations.[1][2] This simply means it has been used by some writers; although this uses are likely a transparent sum of parts, the fact that there are at least two sources suggests the possibility that the maxim is an idiom, and without consulting the sources we cannot be fully sure.  --Lambiam 15:38, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
The 2nd work gives two sources:
  1. "Digesta 49, 8, 1 §2, Macer"
  2. "Pseudo-Paulus, Sententiae 5, 5 a, 11"
As for the 1st: juraeinmaleins.de and de.WP give Macer Dig. 49, 8, 1, 1 as source. Digesta Iustiniani Augusti, 49, 8 mentions Macer and has calculi error, error computationis but (as far as I see) doesn't have iudex non calculat. --幽霊四 (talk) 17:42, 31 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
