"sunbearer"[edit]

What does "sunbearer" mean? 71.66.97.228 01:52, 1 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

More literally, daybearer, or he who bears the day. It refers to Sun Bearer, the sun god. In Navajo mythology, Sun Bearer was the most powerful of the Navajo gods, and one of his wives was Asdzą́ą́ Nádleehé (Changing Woman). One of their sons was Monster Slayer. His horse was the sky and the sun was his shield. Neither the capitalization or the spelling as one or two words is standardized. —Stephen (Talk) 08:14, 1 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
