Possible error[edit]

I ask an etymologist about the word koń ("horse") being from PIE *kem- ("hornless") and he seems to disagree:

"There is no phonetic law: PIE *m > Slav. n'. The root *kem-/kom- is attested in Russian as kom not kon."

Is koń ("horse") definitely from *kem- ("hornless") or is this a mistake? Sjacrane (talk) 17:35, 3 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Etymology[edit]

"From Proto-Slavic *koňь, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱem- (“hornless”)" - This contradicts the further references of the same article and appears ridiculous.2A02:8108:9640:AC3:4DF8:A0AF:4F2D:BE71 15:46, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
