Etymology

@Mar vin kaiser oh this one, I remember years ago having read the Hokkien etymology from some sites writing like ‘Kueh Tsin Tao’ then I just filled in which sinograph they likely meant and structured the romanization back then. I can't remember if I read it on the wikipedia page or from some blog sites. It's probably these blog sites, "Cuchinta: Origin and Benefits" (October 27, 2014) by Juan's Kakanin, "Kutsinta" (APRIL 25, 2016) BY RAYMUND, "The origin of the name Puto Kutsinta" (August 08, 2018) by Kevin Tocino, etc. Mlgc1998 (talk) 10:18, 26 October 2023 (UTC)

@Mlgc1998: It seems to be in the Juan's Kakanin Website. A few comments:

1. It's not published work, just someone's blog.
2. If it's "kué" like 粿, it will manifest as "koy" like "tikoy", not "ku", and "thâu" 頭 won't become "ta", it will still be "taw" like "baktaw" "墨斗". For "taho" "tau-hu" became "taho", for this one, the disappearance of /u/, because it's not the last syllable, and not the syllable with stress, so /u/ becomes weak. For "kutsinta", the /u/ from "thâu" 頭 should still be there.

Overall, not a very convincing etymology. And not a published source, so removing for now. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 07:30, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
