Rfv-sense: (sociolinguistics) A supraregional idiom; the language variety used as an institutionalized norm in a community; standard language, literary standard.

There are two references which confirm the sense. How can it be SoP if it doesn't refer to "language used in literary writing", as would be inferred from the meanings of its components? If anything, the first definition is SoP-like. 37.47.199.40 21:01, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
