- I am familiar with the slang usage as a term for intellectually disabled and used as an insult (similarly as 'moron' or 'spastic'). I suggest that it is local to South Australia, and likely specific to Adelaide, where w:Minda Inc operates. I haven't heard it since my schooldays, which suggests that it may be mainly used by children (or by those who lack the vocabulary for more imaginative insults). Minda Home is an Adelaide institution that cares for intellectually disabled children and adults. Incidentally, 'minda' is said to be a Kaurna word meaning 'place of protection and shelter' (i.e. 'asylum'). Pingku 07:32, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
