The citations show that in the 1600s, noddle was often used in expressions meaning fool/foolish. Perhaps this is the origin of noodle meaning fool. The OED speculates this derivation. BenjaminBarrett12 (talk) 19:00, 15 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here's a citation I don't know how to classify.
