I'd like to see a discussion of usage. When can "nor" be used without "neither"? It's accepted to say "I did not do this; nor did I do that." Am I correct that it is not accepted to say "I did not do this nor that"? How about with a comma/pause: "I did not do this, nor that"? Are there differences between accepted American and British usage? Duoduoduo 23:16, 4 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

And not did I stop to think, but ran.[edit]

Is the following sentence grammatical? Otherwise the definition needs to be reworded "And not did I stop to think, but ran." --Backinstadiums (talk) 10:30, 15 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

The struggle didn't end, nor was it any less diminished[edit]

The second sentence doesn't make sense, does it? The struggle didn't end, nor was it any less diminished --Backinstadiums (talk) 10:34, 15 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

archaic meanings[edit]

Used instead of or without neither, the negative force of which is understood: (Nor) He nor I was there. --Backinstadiums (talk) 15:40, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
