Possibly from Gaulish orco[edit]

Gaulish orco = piglet (see Delamarre), or more generally, live offspring of a mammal, from PIE porkos. Compare porpoise = piglet fish i.e., mammal fish, semantically comparable to other toothed whales. 109.255.120.6 00:55, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
