I think "supposedly" is a synonym sometimes, more than "apparently". Siuenti (talk) 15:41, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
- Etymologically, "ostensibly" is like implying (i.e. from the source) while "apparently" and "supposedly" are like inferring (i.e. from the observer, who is the one who does the supposing, and to whom things appear).
