@PUC: undid the definition and undertook to rebuke its correction with "(User:JonRichfield, when you "improve" definitions, don't break them in the process)".

Not only did the improvement NOT break the definition in any sense, but if you are under the impression that "parade of horribles" is a formal legal term, please document your authoritative source before I undertake to correct it again. JonRichfield (talk) 11:06, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

@PUC: Ah, thank you. Yes, I accept the second change as adequate. I had not hitherto known of that gloss convention and will observe it in future. As it happens, I had in fact at first put in "any", or perhaps "an", which would have met the case, but unfortunately happened to decide that it was redundant. However, bear in mind that in administering a correction of violation of a convention, the proper form is not a rebuke but instruction; it would have saved unnecessary friction if in the first place you had said something like "If you don't understand why, please acquaint yourself with the function of a {{non-gloss}} definition. (The {{gloss}} definition is unhelpful in this context, as you are welcome to see for yourself; possibly there is an error there.) JonRichfield (talk) 11:42, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
