English etymology[edit]

The etymology here is wrong. The source at the Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary states that it comes from Spanish 'pedestal' (which makes much more sense) and just gives the French and Italian equivalents as examples of related words ("cf"). Capmo (talk) 16:41, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
