there is no such formal word as 'pre-existing'. a thing, event or life is either existing or non-existing

Maybe not in British English, but in American English, preexisting is a formal word...as in preexisting condition, which is a health condition that existed before the application for health insurance. Traditionally, preexisting conditions are not covered, so if a health problem arises while you have no health insurance, no insurance company will accept the responsibility to pay for it. —Stephen (Talk) 07:59, 20 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
