English "profer" entry

The dictionary.com link given as a source is no longer valid, so I can't see what information it might have shown. merriam-webster.com only shows that this spelling is an obsolete form of proffer. I'm curious where the pronunciation of /pɹəʊˈfɜː/ comes from, because I can't find that anywhere else.
