I will have to come back to this, but it would seem the more common spelling for Neapolitan is actually 'pucchiacca' and 'purchiacca' is... Calabrian? This is all also in reference to a specific flower - https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portulaca_oleracea - which I discovered while on the hunt for an etymology source. Update: Thanks to Twitter user @KHLazarus, found some sources - this one is in Italian, https://www.vesuviolive.it/cultura-napoletana/304275-erba-pucchiacchella-portulaca/, but connects purchiacca to the Latin term 'portulaca' which means 'small door' (haha) and purslane was used for uterine complaints among its many medical uses. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081203183313AA8FiPJ This one also claims it's a type of salad, which is dirty on a whole different level, and has a (loose) pronunciation guide. I... will attempt to improve my Italian or ask somebody for help before trying to use any of these as Official Attestations, but they're here as Drafts for the moment.
