Anyone want to go through http://en.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3APrefixindex&from=semi&namespace=0 to find the directly ===Derived terms=== here? --Connel MacKenzie 19:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not that hard, but I can't commit for at least a week. Would it be possible to easily extract separately just the English-language-only entries and just the mixed-language entries? We haven't been showing inter-lingual descendants and, in any event, some of the non-English terms beginning "semi" may be derived more directly from the Latin, bypassing any connection with English. the proviso in the translation section[edit]

If we collectively do want to keep a proviso like the one that was there, the wording could be simplified, for instance

Note that not every word beginning with a prefix in this list has an English translation beginning with semi-.

But I don't think it's needful at all. In individual entries is the wrong place to take the fight against the "languages are just codebooks" crowd. 4pq1injbok (talk) 19:44, 13 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
