Template

Why isn't the template showing up as a category here, the way "zh-attention" does? 24.29.228.33 22:44, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

It is a "hidden" category. The page will appear in the category, but the category will not appear at the bottom of the page. The community decided that certain kinds of maintenance request templates should be hidden by default. --EncycloPetey 22:50, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Thank you; it shouldn't be hidden because I went all over the place looking for where the category is, so I could use it to find other articles that need attention. I use the "zh-attention" and other Asian attention template categories (which do appear) in such a manner all the time. It's really not helpful to have it hidden in such a manner, which makes it pretty much impossible to find for all but the "hackers" among us who are computer whizzes and can find anything. The great benefit of the Wiki software is that it's transparent and easy to navigate for everyone. 24.29.228.33 22:56, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

You should post this as a new discussion thread in the Beer Parlour. I agree with you, and did at the time, but more people advocated hiding these categories. --EncycloPetey 23:02, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
